We must first clear the road, then we can walk along it without getting caught in anything. This principle of the wise and good has come down from ancient times; a traffic in guilt and merit is full of snares. If you have to run, throw aside your cloak; if you are encumbered you will be caught. Tuka says, This is how to distinguish the valiant; weak creatures are caught in the snares of time.
