Tukaram, Poem 2884

The sinful man knows not that one life is like another; he sits down to cut another’s throat. God is present as the soul in all created beings; how is it he does not recognize Him in the brutes? He sees a soul groaning and howling; yet how do his cruel hands conduct themselves? The villain will go down to hell, says Tuka.
