Tukaram, Poem 2863

Let no crushing blow fall on me now, for distress
would step between us and destroy me.
Why did I destroy the soul within me that I felt
to be separate from Thee? Because my neck was
bound by the rope of desire, and I grew quite
helpless. Tuka says, I relegate to their own place
the tribe of individual souls altogether.
