Tukaram, Poem 2716

Some one may call this language of mine censure, but in truth he would be mistaken. When a man is taking a wrong path, to lead him to the right one—this both religion and morality enjoin. If he will not listen quietly, then let him be chastised; there is no sin, but merit, in this. Thereby would birth and death and sorrow be avoided; let us diminish the high importance we have given to these things. Tuka says, Unless you administer neem leaves, how can you heal a man of disease?
