Tukaram, Poem 2685

I was caught by the press-gang as I stepped
forward to meet the world, but on the way I
met Vitthoba and he took compassion on me.
I had a heavy load on my head, says Tuka; I was
anxiously saying to myself, What generous man
will meet me?
