Tukaram, Poem 2412

Narayana gives us acceptable gifts, he stands with arms uplifted to bestow them. We must eat the portion assigned to us; we must take our own portion with due reflection. We have sown the seed, we must accept the fruit; how can a plantain appear on a brinjal tree? Tuka says, God can in no wise be blamed; you are your own friend or enemy.
