Tukaram, Poem 2238

If you desire a perfume to proceed from you, sow not the seeds of that perfume but nourish a pure spirit within you. Every wind that blows proclaims the measure of a good man: Narayana is His voice of fame. Are the sun and the sunlight different? When the sun rises, all men bear witness that it is risen. Tuka says, It is good to toil for the truth; butter cannot become cream again.
