Tukaram, Poem 2089

The man that has a crooked, perverse heart, let not him wear the garland; the man with a sense of religious duty, void of compassion and peaceful spirit, let not him put ashes on his person. He who understands not how glorious is loving devotion, let him not talk about knowledge of Brahma. He who cannot control his mind, let not him renounce the world. He who loves not Hari, let not him, says Tuka, put on the yellow robe.
