Tukaram, Poem 1965

If a mother cuts her child’s throat, who is to protect it? If those who run to help you plunder you, who is to save you? If your king strips you of your all, who is to guard you? If you do not still my mind, how can I control it? The strings of the puppets are in your hands, says Tuka.
