Tukaram, Poem 1886

My words are not figures of rhetoric; I beseech
Thee in accents of true misery. Let no
delay intervene in our task; Thou art a self-made
image of mercy. I have turned my face towards
Thee, says Tuka; I will hug Thy feet when I see
them.
