Tukaram, Poem 1816

Do not put yourself in the power of your mind,
do not listen to what it says. Ming from
you its importunate speeches; seek the comfort
of Vitthoba. Keep your mind subject to yourself,
or it will destroy your soul. Tuka says, Yama
throws into strong fetters those who are subject
to their minds.
