Tukaram, Poem 1800

Let us ask him for a gift proportionate to himself. He is patient in generosity, without stain, without malice; therefore he is called Lord of all. By sharing his attributes we shall become one with himself; he both causes others to feel and feels himself at once. Why not strive to grasp this when it may be attained? If you are negligent, ’tis through your own weakness. Why not run after those who have attained? Being in their company, strength will follow. Tuka says, Let us add an ounce to the ton, let us make ourselves one little part of God.
