Tukaram, Poem 1752

The gifts of God are those which His worshippers desire; what is there that efforts cannot obtain?
His mercy is not deep to his servants; He knows their innermost solicitude.
A child knows not how to ask, but his mother saves him from anxious care.
Tuka says, I have known it myself; I cannot consent to deny it.
