Tukaram, Poem 1676

My death is dead; I am grown immortal, I
have swept clean the bed and the roots of the
tree of bodily consciousness; I have made a barren
place where it grew. The flood which rose has
fallen; I have placed my confidence in the water
of life. Tuka says, Truly I have purified my
life.
