Tukaram, Poem 1576

Old age has come whispering in my ears; I
am drawing near to death. Now, O my
mind, be wakeful; be assured that full attainment
consists only in the belief that thou art holy.
The last vessel will sink in no time; redeem the
last hour which draws near to thee. Tuka says
Meditate on the God of thy fathers; avoid the
deceptive words you hear around you.
