Tukaram, Poem 1561

For us to ask anything is unbecoming; we
know this tradition of our elders. We have
learned to despise the body and all that belongs to
it; our intellect has found a refuge in service.
Words are a fetter on Him who moves not nor
changes; has not experience taught me so? Tuka
says, I have resolved the body into its elements; I
have left within myself only the service of others.
