Tukaram, Poem 1469

Thou providest me the very things that I
dislike. Why dost Thou persecute me when
I have surrendered my soul to Thee? I feel that
I should avoid society and keep the world far from
me. I should seek a solitary place, and utter no
sound. I should look on mankind, wealth and
my own body as though they were vomit. Yet it
rests with Thee, O Lord of Pandhari, says Tuka.
