Tukaram, Poem 1272

Krishna, you are a silly child, shameless
and impudent; I have tried scolding you,
but you won’t leave off your tricks. You go on
hour after hour, you cut off our affection from you.
You are a regular cow-boy, thoughtless and unruly,
thievish and vicious; I’ll have a proclamation made
of it.” If we make your mother a common strum-
pet, says Tuka, you will think it a credit to you.
