Tukaram, Poem 1192

You may treat me, O God, as You will, but I will not call these men saints; for they have set their hearts on rule and wealth. Their desires have made them the victims of hypocrisy. Though they be Brahmanas, I shall hold them none such. They bear knowledge blindly as a burden. Tuka says, I shall not fear mankind in the person of such men, though I suffer for it.
