Tukaram, Poem 1186

In this evil age men find their means of spiritual attainment in long hooka pipes; they accustom themselves to drink spirits and smoke bhang. They make speeches about union with God, but they discover a fast attachment to vices; disciples follow them in abundance; they have fat bodies, staves, and mortars for bhang. They love honour and wealth; they are full of high desires; they are filthy heaps of outward pretences. Tuka says, I have rated them well and leave them now.
