Tukaram, Poem 1135

Bhavani steps forth: let her influence travel on;
cast out the deities of the past; wrench your neck with a jerk. The only warrior goddess has entered your body; she will drive out all disorders.
“Tell my devotee to worship me with faith; if you slay for me a shaggy ram, you have offered me complete worship. If you are obstinate, I will not visit the spot.” Tuka says, She visited our ancestors and has come into the family; worship her, all of you, waving round her a tray of lights.
