Tukaram, Poem 926

In holy places we find water and an image of
stone, but in the society of good men we have
the actual presence of God. Meeting with such, if
we offer them our body, that body is blessed. At
holy places it is faith that yields fruit; though the
ignorant are tempted to visit them. Tuka says,
When our sin vanishes, as it vanishes, we learn
what a fever it was.
