Tukaram, Poem 566

Speech may describe Him, but experience is hard to attain; our own tendencies draw us in many directions. How can we be still and calm, when death is pursuing us? Our bellies lead us into pride and ostentation; we shall lose our Principal at last. Tuka says, O Narayana, it is good that You awaken the world with Your hand that calms all fear.
