Tukaram, Poem 511

Avoid the world; be at rest; let no stain of
affection come upon thee: thus shalt Thou
gain true union, true knowledge of Brahma; with-
out experience of it all talks idle chatter. He who
has conquered his senses and destroyed his desires,
he thereafter forms no designs. Tuka says, It is not
knowledge that enters his heart; his heart is a
dwelling-place of joy.
