Tukaram, Poem 443

For our sake Thou didst right easily display
Thyself in the fish and the tortoise and the
boar. When we utter Thy name, O Mistress of
Pandhari, run to us with fond affection, give us Thy
fond breast! We cannot see Thee anywhere; leap
suddenly into sight. Take our suffering upon Thy-
self and give us joy; set us safe behind Thee;
there we will fight against Time and Death. Tuka
says, O sea of mercy, take us over in thy boat.
