Tukaram, Poem 385

My life is altogether wretched; what ground
of faith can I see now? I cannot bear to
hear of the world; if I call anyone a friend, I find
him a stranger. Means of bodily pleasure are poison
to me; honour is a snare; dignity and high position
are a toil and a burden: my life is weary.
Tuka says, I can hear nothing else, I delight in
the feet of Vishnu’s servants.
