Tukaram, Poem 207

What does the lotus flower know of its own perfumes? The bee enjoys it all. Thus Thou knowest not thy own name, but we know the happiness of Love that proceeds from it. The mother cow eats grass, but the calf enjoys the sweet milk; he enjoys who produces not. Tuka says, The pearl lies in the shell, but the shell cannot see or enjoy it.
