1. A Song of Ascents.
Remember, Yahweh, David,
and all his afflictions!
2. He made this oath to Yahweh,
this vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:
3. “I will not enter the tent where I dwell,
I will not mount the bed where I rest;
4. I will grant no sleep to my eyes,
nor slumber to my eyelids,
5. until I have found a place for Yahweh,
a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”
6. Behold, we heard it said that she is in Ephrata;
we found her in the fields of Jaar.
7. Let us go to the tabernacle of Yahweh,
let us bow down before the footstool of His feet.
8. Arise, Yahweh, come to the place of Thy rest,
Thou and the ark of Thy majesty!
9. May Thy priests be clothed with righteousness,
and may Thy faithful ones shout for joy!
10. For the sake of David, Thy servant,
do not reject the face of Thine Anointed!
11. Yahweh swore the truth to David,
He will not depart from it:
“From the fruit of thy loins,
I will set one upon thy throne.

15. I will abundantly bless her provision;
I will satisfy her poor with bread.
16. I will clothe her priests with salvation,
and her faithful ones shall shout for joy.
17. There will I make the power of David to flourish;
I will prepare a lamp for Mine Anointed.
18. I will clothe his enemies with shame,
but upon his brow his crown shall shine.”
and the precepts that I shall teach them,
