1. A prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, Thou hast been our refuge from generation to generation.
2. Before the mountains were made, or the earth and the world was formed; from eternity and to eternity Thou art God.
3. Turn not man away to be brought low: and Thou hast said: Be converted, O ye sons of men.
4. For a thousand years in Thy sight are as yesterday, which is past. And as a watch in the night,
5. Things that are counted nothing, shall their years be.
6. In the morning man shall grow up like grass; in the morning he shall flourish and pass away: in the evening he shall fall, grow dry, and wither.
7. For in Thy wrath we have fainted away: and are troubled in thy indignation.
8. Thou hast set our iniquities before thy eyes: our life in the light of Thy countenance.
9. For all our days are spent; and in Thy wrath we have fainted away. Our years shall be considered as a spider:
10. The days of our years in them are threescore and ten years. But if in the strong they be fourscore years: and what is more of them is labour and sorrow. For mildness is come upon us: and we shall be corrected.

11. Who knoweth the power of Thy anger, and for thy fear
12. Can number Thy wrath? So make thy right hand known: and men learned in heart, in wisdom.
13. Return, O Lord, how long? and be entreated in favour of Thy servants.
14. We are filled in the morning with Thy mercy: and we have rejoiced, and are delighted all our days.
15. We have rejoiced for the days in which Thou hast humbled us: for the years in which we have seen evils.
16. Look upon Thy servants and upon their works: and direct their children.
17. And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us: and direct Thou the works of our hands over us; yea, the work of our hands do Thou direct.

21. I have found David, My servant;
I have anointed him with My holy oil.
22. My hand shall be continually with him,
and My arm shall strengthen him.
23. “The enemy shall not surprise him,
and the son of iniquity shall not prevail against him.
24. I will crush his adversaries before him,
and strike those who hate him.
25. My faithfulness and My goodness shall be with him,
and by My name His power shall wax great.
26. I will extend his hand over the sea
and his right hand over the rivers.
27. “He shall call upon Me: Thou art my Father,
my God and the rock of my salvation.
28. And I will make him the first-born,
the highest of the kings of the earth.
29. I will keep My goodness for him for ever,
and My covenant shall be faithful to him.
30. I will establish His posterity for ever,
and His throne shall endure as the days of heaven.
31. “If His sons forsake My law,
and walk not according to My ordinances;
I have anointed him with My holy oil.
22. My hand shall be continually with him,
and My arm shall strengthen him.
23. “The enemy shall not surprise him,

31. “If His sons forsake My law,
and walk not according to My ordinances;
32. if they violate My precepts,
and observe not My commandments;
33. I will punish their transgressions with the rod,
and their iniquities with stripes;
34. but I will not withdraw My lovingkindness from him,
nor make My faithfulness to fail.
35. “I will not violate My covenant,
nor alter the word that has gone forth from My lips.
36. Once have I sworn by My holiness;
nay, I will not lie unto David.
37. His posterity shall endure for ever,
his throne shall be before Me as the sun;
38. like the moon, it is established for ever,
and the witness in heaven is faithful.” — Selah.
39. But Thou hast cast off and rejected,
and hast been wroth with Thine Anointed!
40. Thou hast abhorred the covenant with Thy servant,
Thou hast cast his profaned crown to the ground.
41. Thou hast broken down all his walls,
Thou hast laid his strongholds in ruins.
and observe not My commandments;
33. I will punish their transgressions with the rod,
and their iniquities with stripes;

40. Thou hast abhorred the covenant with Thy servant,
Thou hast cast his profaned crown to the ground.
41. Thou hast broken down all his walls,
Thou hast laid his strongholds in ruins.
42. All that pass by spoil him;
he has become a reproach to his neighbors.
43. Thou hast exalted the right hand of his oppressors,
Thou hast made all his enemies rejoice.
44. Thou hast turned back the edge of his sword,
and Thou hast not upheld him in battle.
45. Thou hast stripped him of his splendor,
and Thou hast cast his throne to the ground.
46. Thou hast shortened the days of his youth,
and Thou hast covered him with shame. — Selah.
47. How long, Yahweh, wilt Thou hide Thyself forever,
and shall Thy wrath burn like fire?
48. Remember how brief my life is,
and for what vanity Thou hast created all the sons of men!
49. What man is he that shall live and not see death,
that shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? — Selah.
50. Where are Thy former loving-kindnesses, Lord,
which Thou didst swear to David in Thy faithfulness?
51. Remember, Lord, the reproach of Thy servants;
remember that I bear in my bosom the insults of so many nations;
he has become a reproach to his neighbors.
43. Thou hast exalted the right hand of his oppressors,
Thou hast made all his enemies rejoice.

which Thou didst swear to David in Thy faithfulness?
51. Remember, Lord, the reproach of Thy servants;
remember that I bear in my bosom the insults of so many nations;
52. Remember the insults of Thine enemies, Yahweh,
their insults against the footsteps of Thine Anointed.
53. Blessed be Yahweh for ever!
Amen! Amen!
their insults against the footsteps of Thine Anointed.
53. Blessed be Yahweh for ever!
Amen! Amen!
