1. Unto the end. A psalm for David.
2. The heavens shew forth the glory of God, and the firmament declareth the work of His hands.
3. Day to day uttereth speech, and night to night sheweth knowledge.
4. There are no speeches nor languages, where their voices are not heard.
5. Their sound hath gone forth into all the earth: and their words unto the ends of the world.
6. He hath set his tabernacle in the sun: and he, as a bridegroom coming out of his bride chamber, Hath rejoiced as a giant to run the way:
7. His going out is from the end of heaven, And His circuit even to the end thereof: and there is no one that can hide himself from his heat.
8. The law of the Lord is unspotted, converting souls: the testimony of the Lord is faithful, giving wisdom to little ones.

9. The justices of the Lord are right, rejoicing hearts: the commandment of the Lord is lightsome, enlightening the eyes.
10. The fear of the Lord is holy, enduring for ever and ever: the judgments of the Lord are true, justified in themselves.
11. More to be desired than gold and many precious stones: and sweeter than honey and the honeycomb.
12. For Thy servant keepeth them, and in keeping them there is a great reward.
13. Who can understand sins? from my secret ones cleanse me, O Lord:
14. And from those of others spare Thy servant. If they shall have no dominion over me, then shall I be without spot: and I shall be cleansed from the greatest sin.
15. And the words of my mouth shall be such as may please: and the meditation of my heart always in Thy sight. O Lord, my helper, and my redeemer.

18. He delivered me from my powerful enemy,
from those who hated me, though they were stronger than I.
19. They had surprised me in the day of my calamity;
but Yahweh was my stay.
20. He brought me forth into a broad place,
He saved me, because He delighted in me.
21. Yahweh rewarded me according to my righteousness,
He recompensed me according to the cleanness of my hands.
22. For I have kept the ways of Yahweh,
and have not sinned, turning away from my God.
23. All His judgments were before me,
and I did not put away His statutes from me.
24. I was blameless before Him,
and kept myself from my iniquity.
25. Yahweh rewarded me according to my righteousness,
according to the cleanness of my hands before His eyes.
26. With the good Thou showest Thyself good,
with the upright man Thou showest Thyself upright;
27. with the pure Thou showest Thyself pure,
and with the crooked Thou dealest crookedly.

30. With Thee I rush upon armed battalions;
with my God I leap over walls.
31. God!… His ways are perfect;
the word of Yahweh is tried,
He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
32. For who is God, save Yahweh,
and who is a rock, save our God?
33. The God who girdeth me with strength,
who maketh my way perfect;
34. who maketh my feet like the feet of hinds,
and setteth me upright upon my heights;
35. who traineth my hands for battle,
and my arms bend a bow of bronze.
36. Thou hast given me the shield of Thy salvation,
and Thy right hand upholdeth me,
and Thy gentleness maketh me great.
37. Thou enlargest my steps beneath me,
and my feet do not falter.

41. Mine enemies!… Thou turnest their backs before me,
and I destroy them that hate me.
42. They cry, and there is none to save them!
They cry unto Yahweh, and He answereth them not!
43. I crush them like dust before the wind,
I sweep them away like the mire of the streets.
44. Thou deliverest me from the rebellions of the people,
Thou makest me head over the nations;
Peoples whom I knew not are enslaved unto me.
45. As soon as they hear, they obey me;
the sons of the stranger flatter me.
46. The sons of the stranger lose heart,
they come trembling out of their strongholds.
I turn not back until I have destroyed them.
39. I break them, and they rise not again;
They fall beneath my feet.
40. Thou girdest me with strength for battle,
Thou makest mine adversaries bow beneath me.
41. Mine enemies!… Thou turnest their backs before me,
and I destroy them that hate me.
42. They cry, and there is none to save them!
They cry unto Yahweh, and He answereth them not!
43. I crush them like dust before the wind,
I sweep them away like the mire of the streets.
44. Thou deliverest me from the rebellions of the people,
Thou makest me head over the nations;
Peoples whom I knew not are enslaved unto me.
45. As soon as they hear, they obey me;
the sons of the stranger flatter me.
46. The sons of the stranger lose heart,
they come trembling out of their strongholds.
47. Yahweh lives, and blessed be my rock!
May the God of my salvation be exalted;
48. God, who grants me vengeance,
who subdues the peoples beneath me,
49. who delivers me from my enemies!
Yea, Thou raisest me above mine adversaries,
Thou savest me from the man of violence.
50. Therefore will I praise Thee among the nations, O Yahweh;
I will sing praises to Thy name:
51. He grants glorious deliverance to His king,
He shows mercy to His anointed,
to David and to His offspring for ever.
May the God of my salvation be exalted;
48. God, who grants me vengeance,
who subdues the peoples beneath me,
49. who delivers me from my enemies!
